As to the previous hand stuff: Sorry, I should have updated, but apparently I've been too busy holding my breath. (But hey, blue suits me, so: yay. Not everyone can pull it off...)
I was on Apixaban (a blood thinner) last summer-winter. I didn't have a whole lot of things I could change, so I whinged until we changed what we could (tears may have been necessary, ain't to proud to cry), and I got them to put me on something (*anything*) else (edoxaban, as it happens, we'll see how that goes). Research shows Apixaban has been linked to gout flare ups (bizarrely enough, something I *hadn't* previously had, on paper am not a likely candidate for, *at all*, and presented in a weird fashion. naturally.), and I swear to Dog the stuff effectively crippled me.
The problems aren't gone now, but they're light years better. (Or, y'know, *were* until the whole needle thing. ffs. head-desk.) This winter I couldn't tear off a paper towel anymore. (Not that *that* is an essential life skill, per se, but it's fairly indicative of a lot of things you won't be able to do...) So that's a massively welcome change. *counting my blessings where I can*
PSA: If you or yours have weird stuff popping up out of the blue, please don't take 'no' for an answer. (Until they threaten you with needles. Then you should clearly run. (And, y'know, 'dunno' isn't the same thing as 'no'... natch. :-p)) Even if you sound like a crazy lady (you'd be in good company :-). Hell, I'm *lovely* company when I'm not gnawing limbs off, and at least I tend to stick to my own...), try to keep at 'them' until there's less weirdness in your life. Every now and again, it's good to be more normal, and there are so many *better* ways to embrace your weirdness. (Y'know, like 350k words of fanfic. Just saying...)
