I guess it wasn't really a surprise to find out what the potions were. But I do love a wizard who can control fiendfyre! Ooooh!
I love the illegal potions racket going on at school. Because of course there would be demand in need of a supply in a school full of teenagers and incredibly interesting potions. Which reminds me of something I've always wondered about. So, when you get your Hogwarts letter, you are allowed to bring a cat, a toad or an owl with you to school. Where are all the animals? They must have literally been everywhere. The common rooms must have looked like petting zoos. I mean, surely Neville isn't the outlier whose toad gets away from where? The room he shares with 4 or 5 other boys and presumably their animals? The halls would be choked with feathers and cat hair. And does the Headmaster cast a massive contraception charm on all of them or are there masses of kittens in random corners? Anyway. I really need to find a fic that addresses this!
Oh! I really really love the mini-plot of Molly Weasley losing her voice. Hahahaha, such perfection.
Theodore and his Notice-Me-Nott, brilliant. Gotta love a mild-mannered unassuming wizard who is a complete magical badass. You mentioned that Crabbe and Goyle don't take him on and that the other Slytherins haven't seemed to notice. Which is odd because they notice so much. Just underscores how much he is overlooked. I am a bit worried for him. I hope he can cope!
Finally - I never see typos in your fics (well done!) but I found a shortened word, or what I assume is something a bit off.
No. No, it had only stood to reason: where the was one of the damnable draughts, there was almost definitely more to be found...
